Sye Raa, Saaho Bringing Shivers

Expansion of market is turning the radar of Tollywood on US market. Some are penning scripts only keeping in view the tastes of the NRI movie lovers. However one cannot guarantee success and this is resulting in only few buyers making profits. 

Of late film distribution has turned into gambling and buyers are forced to think twice before taking huge risk. Keeping aside the success range of Ntr's Aravinda Sametha, the film left many in losses in overseas.

The film neared 2 million dollar mark due to the craze. Since the distributor acquired the right for high price, he failed to reach the break even. The flop list in overseas includes Naa Peru Surya and Agnyaathavaasi.

This may fall on the upcoming films. High profile films like Sye Raa, Maharshi and Saaho are expected to do around 700crs business across the world excluding the rights of the films in other languages. Considering the budget of the films, the buyers should invest four times what they are doing now.

The question is will the distributors take such huge risk in the coming days. Even Ntr biopic makers are expecting high rates. Not that star heroes films are raking good profits like Mahanati, Rangasthalam and Bharat Ane Nenu, the question is will the buyers with that confidence take huge risks or be cynical following the recent setbacks or come with new strategies.
