The global success of our Telugu pride SS Rajamouli directed fantasy epic Baahubali has brought Indian cinema to the attention of the world. Creating and maintaining eagerness for the larger-than-life saga with a known story was a tough task for Rajamouli who took the opportunity to astonish spectators with visual grandeur in each and every frame.

It is a common misconception that Bollywood is India’s national cinema. Baahubali has cleared the air on this mistaken belief. The film had great impact on not just Telugu cinema, but on Indian cinema. Many filmmakers are coming up with high budget entertainers and audience are also anticipating for such films. However, if the films do not reach their expectations, movie buffs are rejecting them mercilessly.

Bollywood Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan as a counter to south cinema has come up with his version of Baahubali- Thugs Of Hindostan released yesterday with great expectations. Producers poured in nearly Rs 300 crores on this Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial. Although extravagance was seen throughout the film, the poor writing and sloppy direction played the spoilsport.

As per trade reports, Thugs Of Hindostan has below par occupancy on day one itself in overseas and few other territories and it is expected to end as a biggest debacle for AK. We can now proudly say that, mission to break Baahubali records failed utterly.
