Tamil directors Shankar, Maniratnam and Tamil musician AR Rahman have won national fame with their expertise and prowess in respective fields. Besides, their commitment, dedication and hard work in achieving their goals have kept them toppers in their professions over the decades.
Co-incidentally, the trio is running a lean patch of their career at the moment. Shankar has delivered two back to back flops with Nanban and I. AR Rahman hasn't delivered a resounding musical hit in the recent years. His 2.0 songs couldn't impress music lovers.Today's youth wish to listen to ARR's old tunes but not the tunes being composed by him in the recent past. And lastly, Maniratnam's career has almost come to an end with a series of flops.
According to South Indian movie analysts, the trio has done the biggest blunder which has made their span as top technicians reduced considerably. They said the trio hasn't worked with Tollywood's number one hero Megastar Chiranjeevi and many other big heroes of Tollywood.
When he was ruling the roost of his career, Maniratnam got an opportunity to work with Megastar and a few other big stars. But then, he worked with only King Nagarjuna for Geethanjali. Mani recently tried to team up with Mega Power Star Ram Charan. But then, Ram Charan turned down the offer due to the flaws in script.
AR Rahman worked for many small budget films and a few big budget films in Tollywood. Sadly, most of the straight Telugu films were bombed at the box office. Although ARR said he opted out of Sye Raa due to hectic call sheets, inside sources buzzed that Sye Raa makers were not impressed with ARR's work for the film.
And lastly, Shankar appeared to have superabundant bias on Tamil language and Tamil heroes. And which is why, he didn't work with Tollywood's top heroes. It was felt that Rajinikanth was the only setback in 2.0 film as the senior superstar appeared not so energetic and his age factor is reflecting upon him. Had Shankar preferred Megastar or any other highly energetic star hero of Tollywood, 2.0 could have been made as flawless.
