Yatra Without Jagan

The biopic on former CM of Andhra Pradesh, Ys Rajasekhar Reddy, popularly known as YSR generated tremendous interest among movie lovers. Speculation increased as to who would star in the roles of YSR and his son Jagan, who is currently the chief of YSRCP and the main opposition leader in the state of Andhra Pradesh. 

With no one from Tollywood coming forward to do the role in a politically volatile film, the makers cast Malayalam star Mammootty as YSR. Speculation is still on as to who would star as Jagan. Till recently rumors spread that Kollywood star Surya will play the role, as he showered praises on Jagan sometime back. 

But now, shocking news is coming out that the makers decided not to have Jagan's role in the biopic. A source shares the director doesn't want to shift focus or deviate from the original script and feels that any presence of Jagan's role will get undue attention shifting the focus. 

The director Mahi V Raghav wanted to concentrate on YSR and his popular padayatra which brought Congress back to power in Andhra Pradesh. The film stars Jagapathi Babu, Suhasini Maniratnam, Rao Ramesh and Anasuya Bhardwaj in important roles.
