T-Sentiment Scaring T-Town

Strange are the ways of the Tollywood celebrities. One cannot understand why they believe in sentiments and muhurats. It is a known fact that a film with strong content can become a blockbuster irrespective of sentiments.

Generally filmmakers plan their releases on Fridays because it is an auspicious day and weekend starts. However with the intense competition in the recent times, inevitable clashes, makers are unable to release all the films on Fridays. So few are releasing their films either on Thursdays or Saturdays.

Mahanati and Geetha Govindam turned out to be hits even when they released on Wednesday. However Tollywood is unable to break Thursday jinx. More than 7 films released on Thursdays in 2018 which all turned out as flops.

Nitin’s Chal Mohana Ranga which released on Feb 8 ended as dud. Nani’s Krishnarjuna Yuddam which released on April 12 turned out to be a disaster. Rajinikanth’s Kaala released on June 7th turned out to be another disaster.

Kalyan Ram’s Naa Nuvve on June 14thdidnot even get openings while Gopichand’s Pantham on July 5thgot shock at the box office. Same is the case with Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s son in law Kalyan Dhev’s debut film Vijetha which released on July 12. The film turned out tobe a disaster. Nitin’s Srinivasa Kalyanam on Aug 9th too faced shocking result at the box office.
