Suriya Rejects, Karthi Accepts Controversial Role

In recent times, Tamil star hero Suriya rejected two Telugu films which both interestingly are biopics. It is known that, Suriya was approached to play Gemini Ganesan in Savitri biopic, but the actor refused the offer owing to controversies surrounding the character.

Makers of YS Rajasekhar Reddy biopic titled Yatra too wanted to sign Suriya to reprise the controversial role of Ys Jaganmohan Reddy. Suriya said firm no to them citing date clashes. However, the real reason behind Suriya’s rejection was again controversies surrounding this character as well.

As per latest info, Suriya’s younger brother Karthi who was last seen in Chinna Babu has accepted to essay Jagan in Yatra. However, an official confirmation is awaited on this. While Malayalam superstar Mammootty is playing YSR, Jagapathi Babu will be seen as his father YS Raja Reddy.

Although Yatra will focus on Padayatra performed by YSR, it will also highlight Raja Reddy and Jagan. As we all know, Jagan used to look after business affairs, when Congress was in ruling and YSR was chief minister. 

After YSR’s death in a tragic flight accident, Ys Jagan entered politics by launching his own political party YSR Congress. He too is doing Padayatra with a desire of winning next elections and becoming CM of Andhra Pradesh.
