No Takers For Sye Raa, NTR

Many of the Tollywood stars are testing their luck in Bollywood next year. Nagarjuna is making re-entry after ages with Brahmastra produced by Karan Johar. Young Rebel Star Prabhas’s Saaho will also be released in Hindi version. The Sujeeth directed film’s Hindi rights were bagged by Bhushan Kumar for a whopping amount.

Interestingly, Tollywood senior heroes megastar Chiranjeevi and Natasimha Nandamuri Balakrishna are unable to create any buzz for their respective prestigious films in Hindi.

It is known that, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy which is biopic of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and NTR which is biopic on legendary actor and politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao are most ambitious projects respectively for Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna.

More importantly, both these films are home productions for the yesteryear super stars. While NTR is co-produced by Balakrishna, Chiru’s son Ram Charan is pooling resources for Sye Raa.

`While distributors are keen to acquire rights of both the films in Telugu states, there are no takers for these two films in Bollywood. Although Sye Raa producer Charan and NTR director Krish who have good contacts in Bollywood, they are unable to impress top production houses in North which is the reason why both the films remain unsold there.

Sye Raa makers roped in Amitabh Bachchan to play a cameo and their strategy is to create curiosity in Bollywood filmmakers. But, this strategy turned futile. On the other hand, NTR makers signed Vidya Balan to play Basavatarakam. However, Bollywood still is not keen about this movie.

Apparently, only interesting teaser or trailer can help both these films to generate buzz in Bollywood circles!
