Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ambitious project NTR, biopic on his late father Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao went on floors recently. The film that was initially scheduled for release during Dussehra got postponed to Sankranthi owing to delay in start of the shoot with director Teja walked out of it. Creative director Krish took the responsibility to helm the project.
Vidya Balan who is playing NTR’s wife Basavatarakam also joined the shoot in Hyderabad. Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Sumanth, Murali Sharma, Senior Naresh, Keerthy Suresh and Rakul Preet Singh are also part of the film.
Curiously, NTR to be released in multiple languages including Hindi will have a tough competition in form of Krish’s other film Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. This Kangana Ranaut starrer film is announced to be releasing on January 25th, nearly couple of weeks after release of NTR.
Although Manikarnika may not have strong impact in Telugu, it is expected to do wonders in North, thanks to immense craze of Kangana who is known for scoring blockbusters with female centric films.
Actually, Manikarnika release was initially planned for April 27th. But, due to re-shoots and delay in post-production works, the film is finally releasing on January 25th for Republic Day.
We need to wait and see how tough competition will NTR give to Manikarnika in North!
