A total of 27 pilgrims were dead in a worst stampede at Pushkara Ghat in Rajahmundry on 14th July, 2015, exactly 3 years ago. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu's publicity mania was alleged to have caused those deaths.
In a shocking co-incidence, at least six high school girls were dead in a boat mishap in Gauthami river today. The boat was capsized in the tributary of Godvari river when it was en route to Saladivari Palem from Pasuvullanka when the mishap occurred on Saturday evening.
As per reports, Tdp government is indirectly responsible for the tragedy. As today being second Saturday, government schools should have been given a holiday. However, the AP government cancelled the holiday and made students plant the saplings as part of 'Vanam Manam' programme which was started today. All the girls who downed in the river, reportedly planted the saplings in Pasuvullanka ZP high school and were returning to their homes in the evening.
"In both pushka and boat mishaps, Tdp government's mania on publicity mania is exposed. Although the issue shouldn't have been politicized, the government must introspect its wrong doings in administration," opines an observer.
