In what is a huge shocker to the people, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthalam (Ttd) decided to close lord Balaji's temple for 9 days between 9th of August and 17th of August. Ttd Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav along with the officials of the board convened an urgent meeting and took a decision to close the temple for nine days as the temple priests planned Mahasamprokshana between 12th and 16th of August.
The head priests will perform Ashtabhandhana and Baalalaya Mahasamprokshana in the said dates and the number of devotees allowed would be limited from one lakh to 20 thousand to participate in Mahasamprokshana.
Devotees, however, are exhibiting their immense concern over the decision of Ttd board. On the other hand, opposition parties are suspecting if any ploy was involved to close the temple for such a long time. It is a known news that the ruling TDP faced severe allegations of corruption from former head priest Ramana Deekshithulu.
