Young Tiger NTR's then blockbuster Simhadri was released on 9th of July, 2003 and completed 15 years of its release today. The movie stood as the first resounding blockbuster for NTR.
Simhadri collected a share of Rs.21 crores in its full run world wide and emerged as the fourth biggest grosser among Telugu films then. Previously, Megastar Chiranjeevi's Indra collected Rs.33 crores share and became an industry hit of Tollywood then. Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Khushi with Rs.24 crores share and Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna's Narasimha Naidu with Rs.22 crores occupied 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Simhadri stood at 4th next to these three films.
Simhadri ran 50 days in 158 direct centres and 100 days in 145 direct centres then. However, the film ran 175 days in 52 direct centres which is all time record till date. Simhadri was directed by Rajamouli while music was provided by MM Keeravani. Bhumika was the heroine.
