Stylish Star Allu Arjun spoke very high about his last outing Naa Peru Surya- Naa illu India that marked directorial debut for star writer Vakkantham Vamsi. The director allegedly copied Hollywood flick Antwone Fisher. It wasn’t just inspiration, but Vamsi lifted complete story from the Hollywood movie.
Although critics lauded Allu Arjun’s character as military officer with anger management issues, it was not sufficient to save the film to rake big numbers at box office. Rather making adequate changes to the script to suit Telugu sensibilities, Vakantham Vamsi penned the complete story on hero characterization.
Interim, Vishal’s Abhimanyudu that was released on this Friday got good response. The film directed by Mithran was a runaway hit in Tamil Nadu, wherein it is doing decent business in Telugu states.
Interestingly, Vishal too played the similar role of an army officer with anger management issues. Nevertheless, Mithran who too took inspiration from Antwone Fisher to design hero character had made the film with the concept of cyber crime.
Taking inspiration from other movies is not an offense, but making frame to frame remakes is definitely not acceptable thing!
