Sridevi Wished To Star In Baahubali, But

Rajamouli's dream project Baahubali created sensation across the world and thus elevated the standard of Indian cinema at international level. The role of Sivagami made a powerful impact on everyone who happened to watch the film. 

For quite some time rumors spread that Rajamouli first contacted Bollywood beauty Sridevi but he went back to Ramya Krishna after she rejected it. Many wondered why Sridevi rejected the role and when she made her reentry in south with Tamil film Puli which flopped at the box office, everyone faulted her selection process and how she missed the Baahubali bandwagon. 

Sridevi too refused to comment saying past is past and Rajamouli though revealed that they never contacted any actress other than Ramya Krishna for Sivagami role, he however shocked all saying Sridevi demanded a whopping sum for Sivagami role, forcing them to opt for Ramya Krishna. 

This triggered war of words and now Ram Gopal Varma made shocking revelations. He said he discussed about this issue with Sridevi on numerous occasions and Sridevi too showed lot of interest to star in Baahubali. He said however her husband Boney Kapoor, prevented her from starring in the film by demanding astronomical remuneration. He added that Sridevi suffered professionally due to Boney's decisions and she was not happy even a single day after her marriage.
