It was a simple debut for Ram Charan with Chirutha, the film that showed all the talents of the actor like acting, dances and fights. Then, his second film Magadheera was an industry hit and took him to top league. Charan was then lauded as right heir of megastar Chiranjeevi.
Both Charan and Chiru became over cautions in selecting subjects and directors. As to lessen the huge burden on Charan, Chiru roped in Bommarillu Bhaskar to make a soft romantic entertainer Orange which failed miserably.
Films like Racha and Nayak received mixed to negative reports post release, but they ended as average grossers. But, Charan was tagged as a ‘mass’ hero. Later, Charan’s Bollywood launch pad Zanjeer too tanked at box office.
Allu Arjun’s cameo in Yevadu didn’t help Charan scoring another super hit like Magadheera. The Vamsi Paidipally directed movie was a decent hit.
Better not to talk about films like Govindudu Andarivadele and Bruce Lee which disappeared from theaters too early without any trace.
Dhruva released during demonetization had won appreciations of critics and audience alike. But, the film tasted bitter result with effect of demonetization. Still, Charan was half-pleased for the film collecting million dollars in USA.
At last, Ram Charan is now a happy man and will easily forget the discomforts he faced because of Magadheera. Anti-fans and others criticized Charan as single hit hero and puzzled his acting abilities.
Rangasthalam exhibited a perfect and matured actor in Ram Charan. Though it was not a unique film and has no big entertainment, fans and cine goers praised the film as a classic in this era due to many positive factors in it.
Ram Charan has been flooded with appreciations since the day Rangasthalam hit the screens. Not just normal public, even celebrities from various film industries cherished Charan’s nata viswaroopam.
Rangasthalam has broken all non-Baahubali records. But, that is not the thing that is making Charan more happy and excited. He will now forget Magadheera as he has another memorable film in his career.
Albeit Charan may or may not get to work for a film like Rangasthalam which gave him everything, he definitely made his father Chiranjeevi proud once again.
