Star Singer KJ.Yesudas is hailed as Gana Gandharva. His melodious voice has that soulful divine fragrance inherited from the birth by God's grace.

Though a born Christian, Yesudas sang many devotional songs singing praises of Hindu Gods. He has the rare distinction of his song 'Harivarasanam' being played in all Ayyappa temples across the world.

Yesudas for long had been dreaming of having a darshan of Lord Srikrishna at the famous Guruvayur temple in Kerala. However Temple authorities denied his entry citing Temple rituals and traditions.

The legendary singer was denied permission to offer prayers at the sanctum sanctorum, though he performed many times outside the temple for the famous Chembai Vaidyanatha music festival.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Poornathrayeesa Temple at Tripunitura in Ernakulam, Yesudas said "If I had been born as a cockroach or a fly, it would have been possible for me to enter the Guruvayur temple."

After repeated requests, the executive committee of the famous Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple in 2017 allowed him to visit the temple on the occasion of Mahanavami or Vijayadasami day which fell on September 29 and 30 respectively.

However Yesudas couldn't visit due to illness and he says "There is no use in rushing. When God calls, I will visit him. For this, none of you should hold your breath and lose your life."
