Mahanati Follows Mega Sentiment

One of the most awaited films of Tollywood Mahanati is being made as the biopic of legendary actress Savitri. Earlier, the film's release was planned on March 29. Since extensive VFX has been planned and which take more time for post production activities, the movie had to be deferred by the team. 

According to the reports, the makers have confirmed the movie's release as May 9. This date has a great significance in the history of Telugu cinema. On May 9, 19990 Megastar Chiranjeevi and legendary actress Sridevi's Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari hit screens and stood as one of the all time best classics of Tollywood. Irrespective of strong cyclone which hit entire coastal Andhra, the film stood as an industry hit then. 

Co-incidentally, Aswini Dutt, who produced JVAS on Vyjayanthi Movies, is bankrolling Mahanati and is letting him released on JVAS banking on a huge sentiment crept on the release date.

Keerthy Suresh dons the protagonist in title role while Dulquer Salman is seen opposite to her as Gemini Ganesan. Top heroines Samantha and Anushka are essaying crucial roles. Mickey J Meyer is composing music. Nag Ashwin is the director.
