Her Rejection Made Sridevi A Superstar

Atiloka Sundari Sridevi's achievements fascinate everyone. Her sudden death in February broke the hearts of many. It is known that Sridevi became a superstar even before she made her entry into Bollywood.

During her early days in Bollywood, Sridevi didn’t dub for her roles as she couldn’t speak Hindi language. Later she mastered Hindi and conquered not only Bollywood but also the hearts of the entire nation.

Everyone knows that Sridevi attained stardom romancing Jitendra in Himmatwala. However not many know that Rekha was the first choice for the lead role. Rekha rejected the offer due to her busy schedule and Sridevi grabbed it with both the hands and the rest is history.

Star actress Rekha dubbed for Sridevi for her film Aakhri Rasta starring Amitabh Bachchan in 1986. Rekha sang praises of Sridevi saying she wasn't anywhere near the three stars Vyjayanthimala, Hemamalini and Sridevi.
