Star Daughter Weds Pizza Maker

Yesteryear actor-filmmaker R Parthiban and veteran actress Seetha’s younger daughter Keerthana married film director Akshay Akkineni yesterday in Chennai according to Hindu traditions. The bride wore a blue saree with a purple blouse, while the groom was dressed in a cream color kurta pyjama.

The wedding ceremony was attended by several celebrities such as Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Jyothika, Vivek, Prabhudeva etc.

Keerthana is best known for her lead role in the critically acclaimed film Kannathil Muthamittal (Amrutha In Telugu). Her performance in the film won her universal praise and in 2003, she won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist. Although, Keerthana was offered few films after that, she had rejected all of them since she wanted to become a film director. She also worked as an assistant director at Mani Ratnam.

On the other hand, Akshay who worked with popular director Bejoy Nambiar for couple of films had made his directorial debut with Hindi remake of Tamil hit Pizza. It may be mentioned here that, Akshay’s grand uncle is the legendary Telugu film producer, actor, director and cinematographer LV Prasad.
