Was That Shah Rukh Khan Loss?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavat overcame all the controversies and went on to get positive reviews from everyone to deliver a blockbuster. Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh won all the appreciation for some terrific performances. 

Among all, Ranveer really stunned with powerful and menacing performance as Delhi Sultan Alauddin Khilji. Even as Ranveer is basking under the glory of this character, it is heard that he was not first choice for the powerful role. 

Bhansali actually planned to cast Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan for Khilji. As we know, Bhansali directed Shah Rukh in Devdas and then planned two more films during those times. However SRK turned down both the offers politely as he wouldn't be able to spare time due to  prior commitments. 

another news source says that Shah Rukh too confirmed the same but in a different way. I was offered two scripts of which one is a period film and other isn't. I do not know whether the period one was of Alauddin Khilji, reportedly said.
