King Nagarjuna, finally, opened up on Nandi awards controversy. As and when Nandi awards were announced for the years 2014, 2015 and 2016 by the award committees, there was a hue and cry from many filmmakers who alleged that the awards were biased.
Incidentally, Akkineni multistarrer Manam was supposed to be the winner of Nandi award for 2014. Instead Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna's Legend was conferred the best feature film award which resulted in huge ruckus from many celebs from Tollywood.
Nagarjuna, however, hasn't reacted on Nandi awards controversy until he convened a press meet today as part of promotions of his new production venture Hello. When he was quizzed by the journos about Manam missing the award, Nag said Manam was a special movie for his family as it being the last film of late ANR. "Audience gave their hearts as an award for us. What else do we need other than that? This is bigger than an Oscar award for us", Nagarjuna said.
Nagarjuna's sensible and touching reply impressed netizens and they have felt in social media that Manam is something like Oscar while Legend is like Bhaskar.
