Manikarnika No Support To Padmavati

Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor's upcoming magnum opus Padmavati directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been facing the fury of the right wing groups over the portrayal of Deepika Padukone as Padmavati hurting the sentiments of the Rajputs. 

Ever since the start of the film's shooting, makers faced opposition and attacks from the right wing groups. Karni Sena which has been in the forefront of the protests even issued death threats to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and also warned to chop off the nose of Soorpanakha Deepika Padukone. 

In the wake of these threats Shabana Azmi initiated a campaign in support of Padmavati and got the signatures of  Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan  Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, her sister Parineeti Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and many others on a petition seeking protection to Deepika from Prime Minister Modi. 

But what surprised all is Kangana Ranaut refused to sign the petition in support of Padmavati. This shocked entire Bollywood and analysts say Kangana is exacting her revenge over Deepika for her behavior when she won best actress award in 2014 for Queen. Deepika Padukone who won the award for Happy New Year,dedicated her award to Kangana's performance. However Kangana was furious that Deepika didnot have the courtesy to call her and wish in public. Currently Kangna is busy playing Manikarnika.
