Vijay is Ilayathalapathy Star in Kollywood with following just second to Super Star Rajinikanth. This does not necessarily mean Telugu audience should also treat him as one of the biggest stars. Resultantly, Vijay hasn’t scored a considerable hit in Tollywood until his last release Adirindhi.
Entered into Telugu screens facing numerous hurdles from Central ruling party and influential Censor Board, finally Mersal opened to stunning numbers in Telugu states proving that content, entertainment alone matters here while stardom carried from Kollywood can’t play the rescue game.
However, Telugu film media and Telugu audience are cent-percent disappointed with the way Vijay promoted Adirindhi. Yes, when his Kollywood contemporaries like Rajinikanth, Kamal Hasan to Suriya, Vikram and Karthi take-out enough time to meet Telugu scribes as part of their respective movie’s promotional strategies, looks like Vijay is unconcerned on Tollywood.
Despite Adirindhi got off to flier in between stiff competition from rival releases, Vijay isn’t showing any interest in pushing the film from here on. Post release promotions can do big wonders for the film because of positive word of mouth spread into public. If Vijay hasn’t got any plans to reach Hyderabad, then he can miss a lot.
Though Vijay holds complete prerogative on this subject, as matter of gratitude for blessing him with a much needed break… he should visit Hyderabad to thank Telugu audience, opined a big section of Telugu cine media friends.
