Mersal Crushes Kabali!

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Mersal is creating a tsunami of collections right now. Having been made with the backdrop of medical mafia, the film is said to have been amassed Rs.150+ crores gross world wide in just 5 days and crossed the previous records of Kabali and Vivegam.

Mersal collected Rs.75 crores in Tamil Nadu, Rs. 10 crores in Karnataka, Rs.14 crores in Kerala and Rs.2 crores in Rest of India. In Overseas alone the film minted Rs.50+ crores gross. 

Vijay's penetrating dialogues on GST and Digital India turned out to be hard hits for the ruling BJP government at the centre. The BJP leaders made ruckus on the film demanding the removal of controversial dialogues. Nevertheless, entire Kollywood backed team Mersal.

Mersal was directed by Atlee. Kajal, Samantha and Nitya Menon have done lady leads. AR Rehaman provided the music. Mersal has been dubbed as Adhirindhi in Telugu which is yet to be released.
