10 Years, Is It Enough For Ram Rahim?

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, leader of Dera Sacha Sauda sect is been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for raping two of his followers, long back in 2002. The judgement from a Rohtak court in Haryana isn't openly welcomed by many of the women organisations who found the dignity of women in India is so cheap because the case was fought for 15 years and the punishment is mere 10 years. Life imprisonment is what some of these organisations asked for.

'The court has ordered 10 year jail term for the accused,' Ram Niwas, the senior bureaucrat in charge of law and order in Haryana told.

More than 40 people were killed after the delivery of judgement on Friday as violence broke in Punjab and Haryana. Ahead of the actual sentence to come today, Haryana Police had carried the hearing inside the prison where Singh was being held.
