Analysis: Why No Interest on Folklore Films?

Rajamouli's Baahubali series films stood as mammoth hits at the Indian box office. Yet again, none of the filmmakers has come forward to make folklore films like Baahubali. 

On the contrary, a good number of historical films such as Rudhramadevi and Gauthamiputra Satakarni have been made in recent times while Megastar Chiranjeevi's period entertainer which is the biopic of first freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy, is under pre production. King Nagarjuna too attempted devotional entertainers while Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna tried some mythological films. 

But then, why our filmmakers show no interest on fantasy (folklore) entertainers? Check out the following analysis.

Reasons for lack of interest on Folklore Entertainers:

* Filmmakers are of the wrong notion that a fantasy film demands hundreds of crores for investment. Perhaps, Baahubali's whopping budget misled them.

* Most of the writers in the industry have no interest on folklore stories. They have never read old Chandamama books, then fantasy writers like Seethamsetty's books etc. 

* Most of the heroes also dislike Folklore Entertainers because they don't like the costumes and different backdrop.

* Most of the celebs haven't watched legendary hero Kantharao's films. 

* Most of the Tollywood's celebs haven't analysed the hit ratio of Folklore Entertainers. 

* Most of the heroes may feel folklore films are not their cup of tea. 

How is interest generated to do folklore films?

* If some clever strategies and systematic plan of action are implemented, a big budgeted folklore film can be made with a budget of just Rs.60 cr or 70 cr.

* Heroes and technicians should watch Kantharao's fantasy films frequently.

* Heroes and technicians should feel as if they are real emperors of great kingdoms. It improves their skills of imagination and their fondness on folklore films.

What kind of folklores are to be made?

* A folklore entertainer should not miss the nativity. Kings and kingdoms should manifest ancient Telugu culture and tradition. 

* Movies like Pathala Bhairavi, Jagadekaveeruni Katha, Jwaladweepa Rahasyam, Guruvunu Minchina Sishyudu shall be made.
