Has the dreadful drug mafia which had its wings spread wide over Telugu cinema industry also has links with political circles in Andhra Pradesh? Few media reports and news from internal sources say the answer is a big YES and Enforcement wing of the Excise and Prohibition department will soon set its deeper investigation in this angle.
Leader of the opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and head of YSR Congress Party, Ys Jaganmohan Reddy and cinema actress turned politician MLA Roja are said to be the two names to receive summons very soon from Telangana Excise and Prohibition department, once the interrogation of 12 Tollywood celebrities completes.
Following the strict guidelines issued by Telangana CM KCR not to spare anybody from investigation purview, officials are in the process of collecting more information from drug peddler Kelvin.
Before evolving as drug mafia don, Kelvin was a small time drug supplier with his base setup in Bengaluru. During those times, he is learnt to have got in touch with YS Jagan through their common friend Mangali Krishna.
Primary reports also suggest that Jagan, Mangali Krishna and Kelvin used to frequently meet at Jagan’s personal building in Yelahanka. Their friendship grew leaps and bounds with time as Kelvin took financial support from Jagan in expanding the business.
After the demise of YS Rajasekhar Reddy and when Jagan shifted his empire to Hyderabad, slowly and steadily Kelvin too established his network in Hyderabad through Roja's contacts in Tollywood. Nevertheless, Puri Jagannath's brother is also a YSRCP politician close to Jagan.
Hyderabad Drug Racket case is getting bigger and dangerous with each day. As and when a political connection is suspiciously found, the process of interrogation is sure to get tougher and more hurdles are in the offing for Akun Sabharwal and team.
