Little Relief on GST Bill to Film Industry

The union government's decision of hiking entertainment tax to 28% under newly announced 'Goods and Service Tax' (Gst) threw the filmmakers of regional film industries into a state of chaos.

Shocked by the government's decision, the filmmakers have been protesting to get the Gst rates slashed. Finally, here is a little relief to the regional industries as the government gave a little relief in Gst bill.

According to the reports, a Gst of 18% will be levied on tickets less than Rs.100. However, the Gst will remain the same for tickets above Rs.100. Even though the government relaxed the Gst a little, it surely may not satisfy the filmmakers and the Gst should be 18% only for all ticket rates.
