Mega Producer Allu Aravind received overwhelming response for his announcement on making ancient epic Ramayana as the biggest motion picture with a budget of Rs.500 crores in three languages. However, apart from appreciations, strangely, there were some detractors, who smelled the rat on the project. However, following analysis affirms the importance Ramayana to be made as a film.

* Ramayana IS A KNOWN STORY: Yes, Ramayana is a known story for most of the people from previous generations. Sadly, most of the current generation's people, especially school and college going students are lacked sufficient knowledge on the great epic. It is inevitable for them to know our culture, tradition and great heritage through Ramayana.

* HIT PERCENTAGE: As per the history of Telugu cinema since 85 years, many films based on the story of Ramayana stood as stupendous hits. Especially, big heroes films got better hit percentage. Movies such as, Lavakusha, Seetharama Kalyanam, Sampoorna Ramayanam, Seetharama Jananam scored big hits. Doordarshan's programs got popularity those days with the super success of Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayana' serial.

* NEED FOR MAKING Ramayana A VISUAL SPECTACLE: If at all epic films like Ramayana are made as visual spectacles, current generation's people connect with the content and message of the films. There will be great moments like Rama killing demons as a child, Seetha Swayamvaram, killing Vali, lord Hanuman's adventures while crossing the ocean, Rama and Ravana battle etc. in the film which can be canned with extensive VFX work.

* Ramayana A FILM FOR PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT: Nowadays, some of the fictitious folklore and historical entertainers are being made and are receiving well by the audience. As a matter of fact, scarcely do we see social messages in them. In contrast, lord Rama's great qualities are inspiration to the people and his qualities like, tranquility, soft-spoken nature, respect on parents and elders, keeping his word under any tough situations and patience  can be adopted by the people to become better humans.
