Bathukamma Song in a Telugu Film

Bathukamma is floral festival celebrated by the Hindu women of Telangana. Every year this festival is celebrated as per Telugu version of Hindu calendar in the Bhadrapada Amavasya, also known as Mahalaya Amavasya, usually in September–October of Gregorian calendar. Bathukamma is celebrated for nine days during Durga Navratri. 

A song starts with the lyrics 'Bathukamma Bathukamma vuyyalo' is sung by the women devotionally while performing puja. 'Bathukamma' song was first shot for a Telugu film titled 'Jeevitha Chakram' starred by late NTR and Vanisri. However, the song was shot on actress Sharada in the movie. The movie was released in 1971. Having watched the song,  it is understood that the cultures and traditions of Telangana were greatly respected by the Telugu film industry even decades ago.
