Did you remember? There was no big movie released post the release of Rajamouli's 'Baahubali' for one long month. That's not just the point. There was no film with other genres watched by the audiences. Since there were "no pants and no shirts films" (movies with contemporary themes), for one month, most of the movie lovers, who accustomed to watch those films, were disappointed, as the only choice left them to watch on big screen was just 'Baahubali', the folklore entertainer.
Unlike 'Baahubali', 'Baahubali 2' is heading for a release in the crazy summer season. The film's release date was locked to April 28. Now that students are given summer holidays in the season, they, obviously, look for watching maximum number of films. If 'Baahubali 2' happens to be the only choice for them, they will surely be disappointed to the core. In order to fulfill their wish, more number of filmmakers would come forward to ensure the releases of their films in April and May.
It must be admitted that 'Baahubali 2' might have been made with huge budget and would need maximum theaters for a long time to reach the break even. But then, other filmmakers need not sacrifice the release dates of their films just for the sake of 'Baahubali 2's run. As per the Telugu idiom, 'Keedenchi melenchadam', if 'Baahubali 2' gets mixed responses, most of the theaters may be vacated. To avoid such threat, other films would replace those theaters. But then, as being lovers of Telugu cinema, we must wish a never seen victory of 'Baahubali 2' and other films slated for release in the same season.
