Re-entry of Mohan Lal into Tollywood with two movies ‘Manamantha’ and ‘Janatha Garage’ is promoted on a grand note. Everyone in Telugu states accepted that he is a Malayalam Super Star and a dynamic actor but this hasn’t guaranteed the commercial run of both the above mentioned Telugu films at any cost. In parallel to huge remuneration Mohan Lal demands and deserves in any language, he is also known for bargaining on theatrical rights for Kerala and Malayalam version satellite rights.

Unfortunately, ‘Manamantha’ proved to be a disastrous flick in entire South. Tamil version ‘Nammadhu’ and Malayalam version ‘Vismayam’ failed miserably than the Telugu version. Nevertheless, Mohan Lal took the risk and released Malayalam on own only to reap losses. Same happened for ‘Janatha Garage.’ Presence of Junior NTR saved Telugu version by big time. Mohan Lal’s star appearance failed to create any curiosity in Kerala and this one ended as a total loss maker.

Having understood a point that his image isn’t working wonders in Telugu and simultaneously the star image in Kerala is also getting tarnished with this unnecessary experimentation, Mohan Lal is known to have lost complete interest in Telugu cinema industry. It could be his good bye forever to Hyderabad.
