Will Akhil Give Maruthi A Chance?

With the exit of Hanu Raghavapudi, Vamsy Paidipally from Akkineni Akhil’s final selection list for second film, the names of Maruthi and Vikram Kumar sprang to top. Reports say, Vikram might run away with the bumper offer as Maruthi’s last release ‘Babu Bangaram’ hasn’t fared to the expectations.

In fact, Maruthi almost came near to top brand value in Tollywood directors after blockbuster ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy.’ Apparently, Maruthi’s weakness in handling a star hero is evidentially felt in ‘Babu Bangaram’ which failed to exploit on Venky’s family image. In turn, it became a nightmare for Maruthi with his brand value thrown in turmoil. 

Reports suggest that Maruthi was although really considered by Akkineni camp for Akhil’s upcoming film, now the chances are meek as Nagarjuna is spotting on Vikram who gave their family a blockbuster ‘Manam’ and his last project ‘24’ is also received to critical acclaim. Following a safe route, Akhil’s second film director is most probably Vikram K Kumar finalized. An official announcement is of course still awaited.
