The blockbuster of the year, 'Sarrainodu' collected Rs.65+ crores so far and is still minting good bucks at the ticket windows. Reports are that the movie collected a decent share of Rs.6 lakhs in East Godavari, Rs.4 lakhs in West Godavari and Rs.3 lakhs in Krishna on its 25th day indicating the movie's current status. According to the trade sources, the movie will have a long run and may rake in good shares for 10 to 15 more days.
In this scenario, Prince Mahesh's 'Brahmotsavam' is hitting the screens on May 20 in a record number of 2000 screens. This is more than enough number for a big star's movie. Also, the movie is going to replace some of the theaters of 'Sarrainodu' across the Telugu states. However, it is buzzed that 'Brahmotsavam's makers are further eyeing on 'Sarrainodu's main theaters in some of the big centers of the state. Hashtags such as 'CheapAlluPolitics' and 'IvvanuBrother' are also being circulated against 'Sarrainodu' in social media by some of the fans of Mahesh.
Usually, exhibitors don't show interest lifting a movie running with shares by replacing it with another film. Moreover, they think twice whether a new movie runs well at the box office or not. Above all, no exhibitor, nowadays, runs a movie with losses. As such, it remains to be seen whether 'Sarrainodu' will be lifted from main theaters in key centers of the state or not.
