Rajamouli Gives New Life to Kalakeya

Among the series of ten first looks of different characters of 'Baahubali', there was one look that specially garnered everyone's attention and it got staggering response from them. And the first look was none other than 'Kalakeya', the role played by Prabhakar. 

Prabhakar shot to fame with Rajamouli's 'Maryada Ramanna'. Speaking to an English daily Prabhakar expressed his gratitude on Rajamouli and adds that Rajamouli gave him a new life. " I struggled in Hyderabad for six years for a Railway job but in vain. Then one of my friends took to me where the selection of artists for 'Magadheer' was going on. Rajamouli then took me to Rajasthan where 'Magadheera' shoot was going on. He observed me for some time. After I came back to Hyderabad, I started looking out for job again and I never thought that I would get a chance to act with Rajamouli sir," says Prabhakar.

However, on one day an assistant of Rajamouli took Prabhakar to Rajamouli's house where he was told that he was being given a role in 'Maryada Ramanna'. When Prabhakar told Rajamouli that he didn't know acting, he was sent to Devadas Kanakala for training. He was given a stipend of Rs.10,000 per every month. He was also paid remuneration separately for the film. 

" Rajamouli sir gave me a new life and today I am here because of him," says Prabhakar. He has named his son after the director. Post 'Maryada Ramanna's release, Prabhakar never turned back. He played significant roles in the movies like 'Seema Tapakai', 'Dookudu', Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum', 'Dongata' etc.
