Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Lion' carried negative reports and poor ratings on the first day of its release. Irrespective of the talk and reviews, the movie has kept the cash registers ringing at the ticket windows. After a long time, Balakrishna has shown his stamina and star power at the box office.
According to the reports, 'Lion' accumulated a share of Rs. 5.49 crores at the end of its first day run in AP and Telangana. No fans shows and morning shows were screened in Guntur and some parts of Ceded yesterday due to financial issues. Even then, the movie could make it Rs.68 lakhs and Rs.1.22 crores in respective areas.
Early reports from USA betokened that 'Lion' amassed $ 61,696 with its premieres. Truculent publicity from the makers may pave the way for the movie to dice out astronomically high figures in its first weekend and first week's run. The movie was helmed by debutant Sathyadeva. It's a Rudhrapati Ramana Rao's product.
