Why Trisha & Apte Skip Lion Promotions?

Although 'Lion' hit the screens on May 14, the makers could not publicize the movie as much as they would have liked to, because Trisha and Rahika Apte have stayed away from the promotions of the movie. 

However, both the heroines have their own reasons staying away from promotions of the movie. Trisha, who recently broke her engagement, is not ready to face media, at least, for few days. As she does not want to say anything about her break up, she simply stayed away from media's attention. 

On the other side, Radhika Apte has made controversial statements against Tollywood. She openly said that she doesn't want to do Telugu films anymore because of it patriarchy. As some of her controversial scenes were leaked from her upcoming film directed by Anurag Kashyap, she reportedly decided to avoid questions on above issues and so stayed away from 'Lion's promotions.
