It was May 9, 1990. United Andhra Pradesh wore the look of an ocean due to deadliest tropical cyclone that hit entire AP. Heavy downpours made the trees getting uprooted and colonies and fields sunk in waters. Main roads of major cities also appeared like canals with knee deep water. In that terrible mayhem, Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Jagadekaveerudu Athilokasundari' was released across AP. The makers initially shattered hopes on opening collections of the movie due to the havoc caused by the cyclone. Shockingly, people didn't care of the cyclone and thronged to the theaters where the movie was being screened. Such that the movie carried positive talk with record opening collections. The movie completes 25 golden years on 9th of May, 2015. More details of the movie are given below.

* The movie ran 50 days in 47 direct centers and 100 days in 29 direct centers. Both of these were all time best run records in slab system then. The movie collected a share of Rs.6 crores. Such that the movie crossed all the previous records of Tollywood and stood as new industry hit of Tollywood.

*Apart from being considered as one of the industry hits of Tollywood, the movie also got the status of one of the cult classics of Tollywood all time. 

* Although all India glamorous heroine Sridevi essayed the role of a deity, Chiranjeevi enthralled the audiences with his mass entertaining character and dialogues. Slow dancing steps introduced by him in 'Kondaveeti Donga' were continued in JVAS as well and got tremendous response from audiences a big time. 

* 'Abbanee thiyyanee debba' song stood as one among the few top hits of Tollywood all time. The song was referred in hundreds of movies post the release of JVAS. Ilayaraja's melodious tunes transfixed everyone and all. Chiranjeevi was suffering from 104 degrees of fever when he did 'Dhinakkutha' song with Sridevi.

* Darshakendrudu K Raghavendra Rao was running with a lean pace of his career with three back to back flops prior to the release of JVAS. He bounced back with IH result of JVAS. 

* Yandamoori Veerendranadh, the script writer of the film revealed that it was Chiranjeevi who gave the idea of shooting some part of the movie at Himalayan backdrop instead of Moon and space. 

* JVAS was the first movie in the combo of Chiranjeevi and producer Aswini Dutt.
