'Thene Manasulu' Blockbuster Story

" THARALU..ANDAROO KOTHA VAARALU". Instead of names of the film's cast, this statement was seen in the title cards of the movie 'Thene Manasulu'. If a director decides to direct a movie with all of film's cast as debutantes, he should possess lots of guts. And yes, Adhurthi Subbarao had that guts. He was the man, who introduced legendary hero Superstar Krishna to tollywood as a hero with 'Thene Manasulu'. Interesting facts on 'Thene Manasulu' movie are as follows.

* The movie had two heroes and two heroines and they are Krishna, Ram Mohan, Sukanya and Sandhyarani. 

* As a matter of fact, Ram Mohan got more reputation in the movie than Krishna. That's why Ram Mohan got dominant role in 'Private Master' while Krishna played a villain role in it. In 'Kanne Manasulu' both the heroes got the roles with equal  importance. However, Krishna eroded the status of Ram Mohan completely within two years with his super hit films.

* Sukanya looked more glamorous than Sandhyarani in the movie. However, Sandhyarani got more opportunities than Sukanya later. As she had got no opportunities, Sukanya was settled in Kakinada. 

* KV Mahadevan composed wonderful melodies for this movie. 'Naa edhuta neevu', 'Devudu nenai puttali', ' 1,2,3,4 maastaroo drill maastaaroo' rocked the chart busters. Comedian Padmanabham lent his voice for Krishna in '1,2,3,4' song. 

* The movie was released on March 31, 1965 and is completing 50 years on 31st of March, 2015. The movie was one of the blockbusters in Krishna's career.
