Although, the genres and scale of budget invested by makers of ‘Manam’ and ‘Drishyam’ are incomparable, when analyzed from Venkatesh and Nagarjuna’s market point of view, definitely Daggubati brand has fell short of Akkineni brand. From commercial and collections angle, Venkatesh and Nagarjuna almost stand on same pedestal with 20 to 30 Crores maximum for their super hit films. However, ‘Manam’ has crossed the barrier by joining into 40 Crores club due to Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s last film sentiment.
Released and promoted on safest commercial calculations, producer Suresh Babu is sure going to have maximum of profits for ‘Drishyam’ but not on par with the total BO power of ‘Manam.’ Trade calculations say that, ‘Drishyam’ might at max collect Rs.25 Crores. In fact, this is a good number for Venkatesh and problem comes only when comparisons start between ‘Drishyam’ and ‘Manam.’
