Film maker Selva Raghavan’s imagination to communicate between two worlds with the on common connecting element of Love might be a good cinema subject to hear on. When it comes to movie making, one needs to mesmerize the audience in theatre with strong conviction and apt behavior of characters. However, a most talented film maker who is appreciated by entire South India for films like ‘7/G Brindavan Colony, Yuganiki Okkadu’ and ‘AMAV’ has now delivered a dud like ‘Varna’ (in Telugu) and ‘Irandam Ulagam’ in Tamil.
In fact, concepts like ‘Varna’ will be liked by a meager section of people in Indian mind set. It’s the orientation and likes of South Indian audience to be taken into consideration by a producer before investing huge amounts in Telugu and Tamil. In simple lines, ‘Varna’ is inspired and could serve as an inspiration for Hollywood movie lovers. So, it’s a wrong film for our audience. Better, PVP and Selva dub/remake(?) this in Hollywood and try their luck.
