50 Crores Loss on Single Flop

The kind of hoopla and excitement created by trailer of ‘Varna’ did not meet the final output delivered by Selva Ragahvan with the movie released yesterday in theatres. The Anushka and Arya starring flick is produced by PVP Cinema. The project was in fact under taken prestigiously because this story was a dream line of Selva Ragahavan who penned the script long ago but could not dare on budget and technical constraints. Once PVP entered into the scene, it took a long time for movie to hit the screens.

The creative sense in Selva was appreciated but critics and audience have unanimously rated it commercially as a very poor film. When a budget of 65 Crores is reportedly invested on ‘Varna’ and ‘Irandam Ulagam,’ the present trends show a minimum of 50 Crores losses guaranteed for PVP Cinema. This is really shocking indeed.
