Ever since the start of Samaikyandhra movement in AP, some of the activists of the movement targeted the movies of mega compound. Because of the statements made by the agitators against mega movies, the makers of 'Yevadu' and 'Atharintiki Daredi' had to postpone the release dates of their movies. However, Reliance Entertainment daringly took a decision of not to postpone the movie 'Toofan'. Also, they approached the AP high court and got police protection for the screening of their movie.
Finally, 'Thoofan' hit the screens on Friday, 6th of September. The movie is running smoothly in East, West, Krishna, Guntur and Nellore areas with little disturbances. In Vizag, Nizamabad etc., no screening was done in 10% 20% centers. However, Ceded was the most affected area where the screening of the film was not done in majority of the centers during morning shows. However, it is known that in majority of the centers, the screening of the movie was started from matinees.
Buzz is that the agitators, who wanted to stop the screening of the movie took the help of a top TV news channel, as the latter assured them to cover their agitations in a big way. That's why the channel gave prime importance to the agitators in their prime time news bulletin at 9pm yesterday. Finally, the agitators could stop the screening of the movie in just 15% to 20% theaters in entire AP. But it was due to the extraordinary coverage of the protests of the agitators, 'that' media succeeded in reducing the openings of 'Toofan'. However, as they expected earlier, they could not stop the release of the movie in the state.
