July 24, 'Indra' IH, 'Tholiprema' 'Trend setting'

July 24 remains unforgettable for mega fans as two memorable films were released on this day in different yeears and proved to be the best among the Telugu films of those times. And those films are Power Star Pawan Kalyan's 'Tholiprema' and Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Indra'. Given below are the details of those films.

THOLIPREMA: This movie was released on 24th July,1998 and stood as blockbuster. This romantic entertainer made Pawan Kalyan one of the superstars of tollywood then. Also, this movie set the trend in Telugu films. Innumerable movies were released later, based on the similar lines of 'Tholiprema'. However, only a few movies could pay off. The movie ran 100 days in 17 direct centers while it ran 175 days directly in 5 centers across the state. The movie collected around Rs.10 crores share. 

INDRA: This movie was released on 24th July,2002. This movie broke all the collection records of previous industry hit movie 'Khushi' and collected Rs.33 crores including its satellite and audio rights. The movie ran 50 days in 156 centers, 100 days in 118 centers and 175 days in 32 direct centers. This movie achieved a rare feat of crossing all the run and share records of previous films. Even 'Magadheera', which crossed all the previous run and share records, could not surpass the jubilee records set by 'Simhadri' with 53 direct centers.
