Dramatic and over dose of performances were exhibited by most of the artists in those days. Since some of the artists originated from stage performances, they might have accustomed to exhibit the same performances in movies as well. Of course, audiences of those days were fond of those performances very much. However, there is one great actor, who always performed natural acting which is also called method acting and he is none other than Viswa Nata Chakravarthi, Sv Rangarao. In that way he broke the ice then. Currently, tollywood is ruled by natural performances of the artists.
Although Sv Rangarao had done the roles of character artist and villain in many movies, he used to take highest remunerations in many movies which were more than on par with the remunerations of then top heroes of tollywood. Some of the memorable roles played by SVR are Nepala Mantrikudu of 'Pathala Bhairavi', Ghatotkhacha in 'Mayabazar', Keechaka in 'Narthanashala', Hiranyakashipu in 'Bhaktha Prahlada' etc. 3rd July is the birth anniversary of SVR.
