Star Director Runs Away from Distributors

Maniratnam is a brand in Indian film industry. Like audience...even distributors and exhibitors too believe more on him getting ready to pay huge prices for bagging the area wise rights. Same happened for Mani's last film 'Kadal' which was released as 'Kadali' in Telugu. Unable to stop their excitement, huge money was poured into business and movie was released with good expectations. Never to mention the value of a Mani's movie in Tamil Nadu.

However, the movie was a disaster and distributors demanded their money back. Reports say that, when distributors and exhibitors queued up before Mani's house, the director allegedly unable to bear this pressure has ran away to Kodaikanal. Of course, he has earlier informed through media that product was sold to a big production house on MG basis. Finally, the sufferers want to get at least a share of their losses filled.
