Comparatively, the producers of Tollywood are said to be better than the producers of kollywood, in terms of announcing reasonable collections of their movies, although there might be some manipulations in those collections. In contrast, the collections of the movies of the star heroes of kollywood are always projected high that we hardly expect to be believed. For instance, Rajnikanth's 'Robo( Endhiran) collections were mentioned the range of Rs.200 to Rs.500 crores. Also, the movies of other star heroes like Vijay, Ajith etc. follow the same trend. Interestingly, the remunerations of heroes are also difficult to be believed. Recently we heard Rajnikanth was offered Rs.100 crores by a Tamil producer. Even Surya was also heard of being offered Rs.30 crores. We don't know the reason behind this abnormal projections of collections and the remunerations of Tamil star heroes.
However, there is one movie, which has been made in both Telugu and Tamil languages has proved the fact that Telugu market is bigger than Tamil market in Overseas. Gautham Menon's 'Eto Vellipoyindi Manasu' collected $254,834 in the USA at the end of its first week run in 43 screens. On the other side, the Tamil version of EVM, 'Neethane En Ponvasantham' collected just $120.000 in the USA in 35 screens. Eventually, it has been evident that kollywood is nowhere near to Tollywood in getting good collections of their movies. Also, it is evident that a few of the kollywood producers and the heroes encourage fake collections and fake remunerations.
