'Chiru' The Definition of Real No.1

The first Telugu movie was released on 15th September, 1931. There after,only a few heroes ruled the tollywood in 'Number One' position. Chiththooru V.Nagayya is considered to be the first number one hero of tollywood. And Chiranjeevi is considered to be the last official number one hero of tollywood till now. Chiranjeevi has achieved a rare record as a number one hero of tollywood and the details are as follows.

* When the previous number one hero left the tollywood in the year, 1982, straightaway, Chiranjeevi occupied number one throne unofficially through his 'Khaidi', which was released in the year, 1983. However, he became the official number one hero of tollywood in the year 1987 through his 'Pasiwadi Pranam'. So, the official gap between previous number one hero and Chiru's number one position is 5 years.

* Chiranjeevi left the tollywood in the year 2007. And this is 2012. As per the trade sources, even after five years of Chiranjeevi's retirement, heroes from mega compound are still ruling the tollywood with powerful openings of their movies and highest amounts of pre release business done with their movies. Especially, Pawan Kalyan has great fan following. Ram Charan is promising to emerge as the future number one hero of tollwood. Out side the mega compound, Mahesh Babu seems to be the contender of top position in tollywood.

* Finally, it is clearly evident that Chiranjeevi is enjoying such a great status that even after 5 years of retirement, he has no replacement and even if there is a replacement, it seems to be from the members of his family. This phenomenal feat has not been achieved by any previous number hero of tollywood.
