Osey Ramulamma's Real Status

Darshakaratna Dasari Narayana Rao has recently stated that his 'Vosai Ramulamma' movie collected Rs. 22.5 crores those days. If the ticket prices then and now are compared 'Vosai Ramulamma' would have been collected Rs.220 crores share now. 

Are Dasari's comments on his film right? If we look into those days, interesting facts will be revealed. 'Vosai Ramulamma' was released in the year 1997 and received blockbuster status. As the movie was made with a shoe string budget and having no hero, it got fantastic profits everywhere across the state. However, the movie collected a share of just Rs.8 to 9 crores but not 22.5 crores as mentioned by Dasari. Interestingly, Chiranjeevi's 'Master' movie was released  in the same year and collected a share of more than Rs.10 crores. 

Meanwhile, both 'Master' and 'Vosai Ramulamma' could not break the previous industry hit 'Pedarayudu's full run share of Rs.12 crores, which later was beaten by Balakrishna with his 'Samarasimha Reddy' with Rs.16 crores full run share.
