Prince Mahesh Babu is considered to be the one and and only star of tollywood, who dominates the other heroes in doing more number of ads. Talking to the press yesterday, he said, "A hero gets the opportunities to act in ads only based on his popularity and a survey is conducted by every ad agency, before selecting an ambassador for its product and I too, was selected based on these norms." By giving this analysis, he indirectly, disclosed that he is the number one hero of tollywood based on his popularity.
However, fans of other heroes are severely condemning Mahesh Babu's version of getting opportunities in ads. They are coming up with solid examples to prove the fact that one can acquire the opportunities in doing ads mainly based on his handsomeness but not on his popularity. According to them, in Tamil Nadu, Suriah is the brand ambassador for more number of products than any other hero. Super stars like, Rajnikanth and Vijay never dominated Suriah in ads. But Suriah's popularity is said to be lesser the above stars. Similar is the case with bollywood, as Ranbir Kapoor off late, is doing more number of ads than Khan trio and Hrithik. Finally, they say, it is the handsomeness of a hero that matters but not his popularity, in terms of getting chances in doing ads.
