Mahesh Babu's dream thrashed!!

The movie announced with huge Fan fare both in Tamil and Telugu is Maniratnam’s latest venture on epic classic ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ penned by legendary author Kalki. A budget of Rs.100Crores is known to have allocated for this flick. With Mahesh Babu, Vijay, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka, Arya, Sathya Raj and many familiar star names attached to the project, the hoopla around was so high.

The financial production house which earlier thought on commercial viability of the film has now stepped back. Although this is not an official reason but ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is formally declared as a shelved venture in Tamil circles. This might be a rumor with strength as abandoning of this film will be a huge disappointment for Mahesh Babu who dreamed too big expressing his anxiety on Twitter.

Sources say Kamal Hasan and legendary MGR tried this story long back but dropped the idea for budgetary constraints. Let us see, how far Maniratnam will come out successful in his trials.
